General

Handwritten notes relating to "Everybody's Political What's What?". On the back of two pieces of the first proof for the book and on a sheet of plain paper, the author has written calculations for the number of letters in the book. There is an uncompleted column for the number of sounds suggesting that Shaw planned to use these figures as part of his justification for the introduction of a phonetic alphabet. On one page, Shaw has written a shorthand note which transcribes as follows: "Over our licence to reproduce an multiply copies of a photographic folder by Karsh of Ottawa sale and circulation as frontispiece to his forthcoming book entitled "Everybody's Political What's What?", we being the authorized agents in Great Britain over the proprieters of the copyright."
