The Local History Collection focuses on the history of Orange County California and the cities within Orange County, Southern California and to a lesser extent California as a whole.

The collection includes 3860 cataloged books and pamphlets, correspondence, ephemera, manuscripts, maps, memoribilia, microfilm, papers, periodicals, posters and photographs.

General

Contains a copy of Chas. H. Haswell's "Civil, Marine, and Mechanical Engineer and Surveyor" signed by Charles Knowlton, a 1913 photograph of Knowlton, two signed copies of Knowlton's "Post Offices of Orange County, California, Past and Present" (Placentia: Placentia Courier, 1947), a typed 1952 document on the Hinde family, and a handwritten biography of Knowlton. Also contains a photocopy of a February 28, 1962 article by Knowlton in Fullerton's News Tribune on "Pioneer Knowlton Home in City Sold; Early Highlights Recalled."
