Scope and Contents
Fanzines created by fans of "Star Trek: The Original Series" throughout the 1960s and 1970s, the first fanzines dedicated to an existing work of science fiction.
Contains fan art, fan fiction, and critical analyses, Star Trek fanzines set a precedent for the level of engagement fans could have with a work of fiction, building a long-lasting community that influenced the trends of media fandoms and fanworks.
Most of the editors for these early Star Trek fanzines were women, who frequently collaborated with each other across multiple fanzines, and some became professional SF authors.
