The prāśitraharaṇa or “vessel for holding the leftover portions of the oblation.”This is a container holding the brahman priest’s portion of the oblation or havis- (prāśitra-)during the New- and Full-Moon rituals either before or after the Iḍā ceremony. It is generally made of khadira wood and shaped like a camasa, or a cup that is rectangular in shape, sometimes a mirror (oval-shaped), or, in this instance, in the shape of a cow’s ear.
