The Local History Collection focuses on the history of Orange County California and the cities within Orange County, Southern California and to a lesser extent California as a whole.
The collection includes 3860 cataloged books and pamphlets, correspondence, ephemera, manuscripts, maps, memoribilia, microfilm, papers, periodicals, posters and photographs.

General
Contains materials provided by Arthur James McFadden (1881-1975), son of Robert and Flora Babcock McFadden. Born in Santa Ana, California, McFadden attended Pomona College and later Harvard University, before returning to Santa Ana where he became a farmer. Over the following decades, McFadden established farmer cooperatives, served on various agricultural boards and other community organizations, maintained a close relationship with the Irvine family, and supported the Claremont Colleges.
