Fairfax Proudfit Walkup Theatre (Collection)
Scope and Contents note
Dr. Fairfax Proudfit Walkup was a professor in the Theater Department at California State University, Fullerton. She was a former Director and Dean of Instruction of the Pasadena Playhouse. Her expertise was in costume and set design and she also was a playwright. Originally from a prominent family in Tennessee she attended Vassar College class of 1908. After W.W. I she and her son came to California. The collection consists of books, periodicals, manuscripts, correspondence, teaching materials, scrapbooks, costumes/clothes and dolls. The correspondence includes many letters from soldiers during World War II.
